Shout out to Brother D for the topic on commitment. Also for all the engaging conversations that uplifts and sharpen each other.
Commitment is loyalty to something or someone despite how you are feeling. Commitment provides growth to ones feelings and shapes how one might view that person or particular thing. In today society we are quick to give up something if it don’t instantly brings us satisfaction. We want a “quick fix” and from my own personal experience I know that at the end quick fixes never bring lasting satisfaction. In the end it will bring more pain and regrets than true feelings of contentment and satisfaction. Discipline is the direct opposite of this “fast grab and go” mentality that seems to be the norm today. Discipline is a process that sometimes starts off painful and hard but brings great results like righteousness and peace (Hebrews 12:11).
Jesus Christ was committed to God The Father even when He did not want to drink the cup of death through Crucifixion (Mark 14:36). He did the will of God The Father because of His love and commitment for Him. Jesus Christ knew God The Father personally and for who He is. This I believe is the reason why Jesus Christ easily committed, obeyed , and Love Him.When you fully understand and know a Father who is The Creator, Sustainer, Alpha and Omega, Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Righteous, Life, Holy, Victorious, Conquer,Loving,Merciful,Judge,Ruler And Everything anybody could ever ask for than being committed to Him should be a no brainier. God calls us to be the same way. To be obedient and committed to Him out of love. He want human beings that desires and pursue to be obedient to Him and His word and not robots with no love towards Him that do things just to receive something in return.
Strive to be committed to God and you will discover a fulfilling life.
